Since the dawn of the civilization, man is fascinated by the beauty of the Moon that made him dance around bonfires during nights. Darkness is the symbol of ignorance and the cool moonshine that fly from the heavens has dispelled the fear psychosis from the minds of the ancient men. The moon next only to the Sun has been the harbinger of growth, fertility, and the magical powers it had on the Earth.

Kalidasa in “Kumarasambhava” says that “Moon is the source of all Oshadhi Plants on the Himalayas the king of all mountains in the world. The moon has a profound influence on the growing crops that exist on earth and all crops that are raised before full moon give the abundant returns rich harvest. Similarly, the water that covers three-fourths of the surface of the earth in the shape of oceans and also the water that runs on a surface in the form of rivers and streams and also sub-terrain water that run in the crevices and horrifies that lay in the crust of the earth.

Moon is closely related to water. And the poets all over the world wrote abundantly about the great influence that exerts on water bodies during full moon days. The oceans raise their waves several meters high into the sky as if in an attempt to reach the moon during full moon days. Similarly, the water bodies on the surface of the earth and also in the sub- terrainian core raise their levels though not perceptible to the necked eye.
