Are We Becoming More And More Tech Zombies With Less And Less Human Interaction?

“Technology is a gift of God. After the gift of life it is perhaps the greatest gift of God’s gifts. It is the mother of civilizations, of arts and of sciences.”

Freeman Dyson

Above quote greatly summarizes the evolution being brought by technology in human life with ever changing facets of science and has thus been a boon to our existence.
What is there which technology hasn’t done or improved?

  1. It has made it possible for people to communicate while being thousands of kilometers apart.
  2. It has made it easy for people to search anything without referring books or going to or waiting for teacher or professor to tell.
  3. It has made cooking, cleaning, washing easy.

And many others to count!

Although technology has been able to make it easy to communicate things, send things over Internet but it has also caused chaos in people’s lives because their dependency on technology has been increasing day by day which is actually and seriously a major drawback keeping in mind the fact that instead of meeting, people prefer talking over phones, or social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat et al. Wedding cards are now constantly being sent over internet instead of going, meeting, having talk over a cup of tea, though it does waste time but it is reducing communication.

We have got so much addicted to our cell phones and laptops that we find it hard to stay away from them for quite a long time, we can’t resist without checking out messages, talking over call or checking news feeds on social media platforms. This kind of a person is being termed as technology zombie.

Problem is not the increasing technology advancements as technology forms a greater part of a country’s development and helps in raising the GDP of a nation but it should be ensured that over-dependancy must not be there as it is not good in long run. In order to be a good listener, speaker, to mingle well with people in and around, it is necessary that we talk to people directly, go and meet them, have one-to-one interaction to strengthen bond. Technology has eased our lives but has actually left with very few options to go around and explore places too.

Some serious health issues are also there which are concerned with this OTT technology. Listening to songs for a long time, stalking over phone all the time, constantly looking into screen of laptop or phones etc. can cause serious problems to heart, brain, ears and what not. The signals often tend to affect the beats of your body and thus must be minimized to the greatest extent possible.

So, all in all, stop being tech zombie and start having more fun outings and chit chats because this is all that used to happen earlier and should happen because technology can’t replace humans and their actions.
