What would you do if you see a girl eating out food from a dustbin? Praveen and Gaurav once met in Mc Donald’s and saw this scene. This disturbed them, got them emotional and yes concerned them. That was the moment when the idea of Being Social popped up in their head. There was no going back then. They started in 2015 and are working in different sectors now.
WAS THE WAY EASY?
Making people understand that their work will have an impact was the most difficult part. Finding time out of their busy schedules for social work was not easy for them as well. They sometimes had sleepless nights or missed food at other time. Working with zero initial investment and no funding, things did not go smooth. But soon they were stable and now they have volunteers across seven cities- Bangalore, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Ludhiana/Chandigarh, Mumbai & Pune.
WHAT DO THEY DO?
They are not working in just one field. Be it small kids, elders, women or youth; they work for all. Being Social operates on weekends or on national holidays where every volunteer joins them to keep up the good work. They organise various events in backward areas and create an impact. But for them, it is not a one-time thing because changes take time. They visit those places regularly and keep a check on the progress.
Below are some of the events that they have done till now:
They have been trying their best to contribute to the society. They wish to further work on pollution, child adoption and want to ensure that India has a happiness index to measure the progress in their lives.
