Coffeeholics can visit a new place this winter. Situated in the southern part of peninsular India, this place is a favourite among the youths. Also known as “Kodagu valley”, it is just a few kilometres away from Tipu Sultan’s city of Mysore. So the next time you visit Mysore or the state of Karnataka, this place is a complete must. The calm and serene view of the cardamom hills and the lush green acres of coffee plantations are enough to make you spellbound. Just as the name suggests, this little valley has a lot to offer when it comes to nature and food. You can either choose to live in resorts or simply the cottages inhabited by the local people. Yes! They would be more than glad to shelter you for a day or two.   You could either systematically plan out your weekend visiting some of the common tourist spots or you could simply wander around the coffee and cardamom plantations carrying a flask of percolated filtered coffee. No wonder you will carry its aroma back home even after the vacation. In case you want a little more adventure, Coorg provides you tree house accommodations amidst its greenery and if you are lucky enough you are sure to spot a few wild boars or at least elephants from the nearby Nagarhole forest with a few showers of rain. 

 

Starting from pork curry, beef stew, appams, rice chappatis you get a very small spread but lip-smacking delicacies. Overall, Coorg is an easy hassle free tourist spot and if you are looking for a destination with fewer hubbubs, this is the place!
