Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body, but reading without reflecting is like eating without digesting. It is truly said; well digested reading makes up a healthy and prosperous mind. It is extremely important for children to develop a thorough reading habit at an early age in order to understand, process and reciprocate information in future. Reading plays a vital role in developing one's imagination, giving a broader perspective to your thoughts and improving on your mindset. The more you read, the better are your communication skills, and the easier it is to put forward your thoughts into a perfect choice of words and express it out to rest of the world. Studies have also found that reading was used as an ancient form of stress reduction in parallel to optimized focus and concentration.

We have always known about the stories of great and successful men and women through reading. It develops ideas in our minds and acts as an inspiration to direct us in the right path. Books when chosen wisely can be your best companions in times of solitude and distress. Like good friends they provide you with counsel and wisdom when you feel low and helpless. In spite of the heavy technology it is important to remember that no form of so digital media can serve us the purpose and satisfaction we get in books.

Ever imagined why books are so much more impactful than movies? Books give you space to look into the plot with your own imagination. On the other hand movies make you believe into the directors perspective and way of deriving the story. Great leaders have confessed it openly at several occasions that they had been great readers too. Some of the well known personalities are Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Winston Churchill, John F Kennedy, Abraham Lincoln and several others. Reading makes up a complete personality. It teaches you lessons from other's lives, gives enough space for self-improvement and introspection, improves your self-confidence to a great extent, stabilizes your mind so as to act patient in difficult situations, stands as a constant motivation and inspiration when books are chosen wisely enough, exposes you to new things, tells you about the lifestyle of people on the other side of globe and on the whole enhances your personality. It is one of the few qualities that constantly need to be made into a habit at all stages of life, be it childhood, adulthood or old age. A person is never too old to gain knowledge, nor is he ever too old to read.

The advantages and positive impact that reading makes in our lives is a never ending story. Thus, here are some quotes from the world-famous personalities when they shared their thoughts regarding reading.
