The Iron Man of India”, Vallabhai Patel who added Sardar to his name after his effective and efficient role in the freedom struggle and also his successful protest towards British.

In the year 1918, he acted actively and took the greatest responsibility in leading the farmers of Gujarat. He succeeded in his actions against British and became a prominent leader.

In the year 1920, he structured the Gujarat Vidyapeeth in which children can be trained as scholars.

Philosophy of Sardar Patel

Sardar Vallabhai Patel gave prior importance to the security of the citizens. He feels that “Safety brings progress and when we are united with a common goal we can make a powerful nation.”
Under his leadership as Deputy Prime Minister, more than 500 princely states merged into Indian union without shedding a drop of blood, except Junagadh Hyderabad and Kashmir which are Muslim dominated states. Hyderabad is located in central India which became a major problem and its ruler Mir Osman Ali Khan wanted his state to be merged with Pakistan his army known as Razakars headed by Syed Muhammad Qasim Razvi started looting people acting brutally against people of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. In 1942 Patel took a police action against Nizam that operation is known as “Operation Polo”. Within 3 days of this operation there is no other option left before Nizam but to surrender. Finally merged his Hyderabad state into the Indian Union. With this Operation Polo and his powerful action against British he called as “Iron Man of India.”
He raised a slogan that “Religion, Caste, and Community will rapidly disappear. We have to speedily forget all these things. Such boundaries hamper our growth.” Without having mutual cooperation between government and citizens of the whole nation, peace and harmony are not possible.

To transfer India into the highest levels a combined action has to take place concentrating on certain fields like education, food, finance and spirit of nationalism which should be inculcated by each and every citizen then only the whole mass of India can be strong enough to take forward the movement like Transforming India.
