SOBUJ SISHU – MAKING THIS WORLD LIVABLE FOR EVERYONE
Sobuj Sishu (Two Bengali words. Sobuj means Green and Sishu means Child.) is a newly started non-government organisation in North Dinajpur district of West Bengal, formed by a group of youthful, bright students, working for the well being of the orphan children and the poor. Not only that it is also spreading the message of keeping our environment green so that our generation can gift the upcoming generations such a world which is ideal for the upbringing of a child.
This organisation is working really hard to provide all the essential commodities to the needy people. A group of young guys going from door to door and collecting help to bring smiles on the faces of the children, for whom the only source of food is the dustbins (believe me I have seen those children). The organisation is working day and night to improve their lifestyles, to make them happy unconditionally.
PROGRAMS CONDUCTED BY SOBUJ SISHU:
- Distribution of essential commodities among the orphanages: The local orphanage authorities are really astonished by the spirits of the young social workers. The members of Sobuj Sishu regularly visit their orphanage and make a list of the things they need and within a week they supply everything needed there.
- Blood donation camps: it is very usual in the countryside area that a poor man is somehow injured and for his treatment blood is needed. But due to the scarcity of blood in the blood banks of the rural hospitals, the authorities fail to provide the required amount of blood. So, Sobuj Sishu has taken the oath to help those rural people in need by conducting blood donation camps regularly throughout the year.
- Helping flood-affected people: Recently, a huge area of West Bengal was under water due to severe monsoon blast. The courageous members of Sobuj Sishu jumped into the situation, swam through the water and reached the affected people, arranged food and fresh drinking water for them.
- Tree plantation and City cleaning: This organisation is not only working for the poor people they are also making people understand that Mother Nature has to be taken care of by her children. As a part of which they have decided to conduct at least 3 tree plantation programs and at least 5 city cleaning drives throughout the year.
This non- government organisation is spreading its branches very fast. They are encouraging each and every young mind of the town to be a part of them. They are getting motivations from every level of the society. Hats off to those young minds who are working really hard to bring some changes to the society.
