THE URGENCY OF CAREER COUNSELLING FOR STUDENTS

We have seen a huge rise in the number of students who are unemployed even after getting multiple degrees and qualification. This modern-day problem needs to be addressed with a lot of attention as the consequences are grave. With time passing by, we have seen a lot of new profession coming to the forefront and pretty interesting all of them have had good scopes and utilization in the market.

Going with the flow has made it necessary today that career counselling should be provided to students so that they realise their true potential and strength and try to be a professional who actually loves what he does. Today we have more job seekers than job providers, a lot of useful professions are not been opted for by the students just because of the fact that they are unaware of it.

After matriculation, there comes an important phase where there is an opportunity for the student to develop the base of his professional career, a wrong choice made especially in this phase results in choosing the wrong type of career ahead. Understanding one's skills are one of the most important aspects of the process of career building. Career counselling makes it easy for the students to choose between what's made for them and what's not. It basically gives them insight into the future and gives them confidence that there are a lot of scopes available in that particular career option.

Career counsellors are not important people who are specially trained for this purpose but they can be anybody let it be teachers, parents, friends, seniors and many more. People who are already experienced and are currently pursuing a professional career are a better audience for career counselling than anybody else as they can very elaborately explain what it is like in reality, to pursue the career we had been dreaming about.
It is very important to take decessions that are as sensitive as this. Wrong decessions, peer pressure, dislike for the pursued career option and make more factors are responsible for devastating outcomes.

It is very important for parents today not to put any kind of pressure on the students regarding selecting a career option. They need to be very wise in understanding the interests of their children and encouraging them to make the right choice, it often happens that parents see the world around them and imagine their children to be one of such personalities but all fingers are not alike and there can be differences.

Hence it makes it very important today that proper career counselling is given to the students so that they come out as successful professionals and enjoy all the endeavours of life they dreamed to live.
