 Why Is Women S Day Celebrated?

While electing only a single day to celebrate the marvel that isa woman can be critiqued poignantly, however the winsome jollification of her for even a day must be greeted with pride, by both the genders alike. Women’s day is not only a shout out to the many achievements of her in as many fields possible and honour of the woman in all sectors of socio, economic, cultural and political spheres of life, but also recognition of her efforts fromsolving every first world problem to all life-threatening complications.

The very first observance of Women’s day was in New York, on Feb 28th, 1909, implemented by the Socialist Party of America on the advice of American labour activist and suffragist: Theresa Malkeil and post the suggestion of the 1910 International Socialists Woman’s Conference, March 8 began to be recognized as International Women’s Day, only to be later adopted officially by the United Nations in 1975. Who would have possibly imagined 8th March, formally recognized by the UN as a day of the woman, would be celebrated like no less than a festival in different parts of the globe? Blame on the monstrous power of the social tools, increase in awareness of the masses or honest enhancement in the conviction of us (as the people of the world, men of our times and women of their lives) to appreciate her, Women’s day can be inarguably held responsible for close knitting us, not just the women but the family of mankind.

Employed or not, married or single, young or old, she incessantly has been made the subject topic of discussion for eons, sometimes due to her choices, many a time because of her tongue or maybe owing to her sartorial preferences. Hence this day calls out to celebrate not only the women on the God’s green earth but also the men who have invariably honoured womanhood with indistinguishable pride and respect. No Women’s day can becomplete without note fully remembering the men who have made a difference, by never differentiating between the two genders

Finally, this Women’s day, and every other random day yet to come, let us pledge to not objectify, pacify or indemnify her so that in few years to come no one remembers to recall just one day to celebrate womanhood.
