"Youth", Our Future Builders

According to recent studies, approximately 41% of India’s population is under 20 years old. Also, nearly half of the population is in between 20-59 age group while only 9% is 60+ of age. With such a huge population, India has a great responsibility shaping future of the youth. In every sector, the middle age group dominates while the old age still working force of any industry.

With such a vast and demographic population India has to manage and put youth in the driving seat so that more employment is created. Be it education, job or corruption, youth is affected the most. Today’s youth is smart, educated and charismatic they exactly know where they should invest time and money. But sometimes unreasonable incidents surface in the form of competition, unemployment, etc. which act as a hurdle towards the progress of the youth and the country. As a country, India has to create more equality in jobs and education sectors, so that every youth looks up to their duties.

Some key concerns with the youth still reside in the education and job sectors. The youth also craves for skill-based education and job placement should be a norm in part of the curriculum. Addition of career-oriented courses which has a close resemblance to the real life rather than just book knowledge which has been in practice for years.

As discussed, with changing education pattern, the job sector should bring some changes too. More skilled based workers should be hired. The global financial crisis affects youth first than the adult since they would enter the working sector, new and fresh. Also, nepotism in the world of job sector cannot be refused. The qualities such as honesty, loyal and righteousness should be embedded in the youth so that the new generation know the importance. Corruption is deep-rooted but to fight against it is what youth needs to do. In fact, every citizen should fight against corruption as a moral responsibility.
