  • SDG 14 is ‘Life Below Water :Plastic pollution. Increasing levels of debris in the world’s oceans are having a major environmental and economic impact. Marine debris impacts biodiversity through entanglement or ingestion

YUVA is a voluntary youth organization based in Panaji. It is a group of professionals or students to become professionals from Mala and nearby areas. YUVA has a soul motto to give back something by utilizing their knowledge and time for betterment of society.


Our Vision
We believe that development is a continuous struggle to create a humane society, which sustains all human beings, as well as nature, where women, men and children enjoy universal human rights. The development is a slow and gradual process and changes take place when everyone join hands and do their part towards the society.


Our Mission
YUVA will empower the society and make woman and youth self reliant. YUVA will not just promise but will deliver in terms of constructive work towards society. YUVA will play vital role in not only in social front but also in academic and sports. YUVA will also engage in critical partnership with the government and forge alliances with other actors of civil society such as people’s movements, women’s group, academic institutions and the private sector to enable and strengthen the people’s empowerment processes.


YUVA was registered on 27th December, 2012. Formally inaugurated on 19th January, 2017 at the hands of then Health Minister Shri. Laxmikant Parsekar.

Activities:
Since then, YUVA has not looked back since 2012 in serving people with various activities like
1. Free health camp with free medicines,
2. Free check up camp for women's,
3. Free football training camps for kids, tournaments, tree plantation, sapling distribution,
4. Swachh Bharat Cleanliness as well as Awareness drive,
5. Swachh Bharat in Mala Zar (Fonte Pheonix) to save the source of fresh water and preserve the heritage Zar of Mala,
6. Statue Cleaning programme,
7. Installation of innovative Ganesh Idol to draw attention of people and government to the spring (zar), AIDS awareness campaign,
8. drawing competition, water color workshop, pizza making workshop, fund raising for Canacona Tragedy as well as Chennai Relief Fund,
9. Self defense workshop,
10. International Yoga Day,
11. Mala Monsoon Run and cultural activities.

 

Awards:
1. National Youth Award 2015-16
2. YUVA has won District Level Best Youth Organization Award from Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India.
3. Followed by State Level Best Youth Organization Award from Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India in 2015.
4. In 2016, YUVA was honoured with Goa State Best Youth Organization Award by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Govt of Goa.
5. YUVA has also created National Records for Tallest Ganesh Idol made of 30,000 match sticks in India Book of Records.
6. YUVA got a special mention in Mann ki Baat from Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Shri. Narendra Modi'ji.
